Pix Princss | 7/29/2010 4:22:45 PM

Stop The Presses, Terry Gilliam Is Doing Something Weird

Zack Kotzer | 7/29/2010 3:04:00 AM

It's always great when acclaimed directors strive for something new, but what do you do when all you've ever done in the first place is more unique than what most can ever hope to achieve? Well, sometimes you can scale back and do something more conventional like The Brothers Grimm, orrrrr you can catch everyone off guard yet again with something out of the ordinary, even for someone out of the ordinary. On August 5th, sci-fi/fantasy legend Terry Gilliam will team up with the Arcade Fire to bring audiences an audio/visual work of wonder. Live.

Ajay's Comic-Con Experience Part 1

Ajay Fry | 7/28/2010 4:47:37 PM

It all started in the airport in Toronto actually when Nat & I bumped into Canadian Sci-Fi writer and creator of Blood Ties, Tanya Huff.  On the plane we bumped into guys from Rue Morgue and a few of the fine folks from Warner Home Video.  There was a vibe on the plane as it became evident that a majority of us were on our way to the Mecca for all things geeky: Comic-Con.  A pair of young ladies seated next to Natasha on the way down admitted they were first timers, and we tried our best to offer some insight as to what to expect and how to handle it all… though really nothing can prepare you for the mayhem that is Comic-Con.

Transformers: War For Cybertron Review: A Brush With The Touch

Zack Kotzer | 7/28/2010 4:38:30 PM

Legacy can go an awful long way. Mythos can sometimes be all it takes to elevate a property from fledgling to classic, even if that mythos is completely absurd and kind of stupid. Sure, they are robots that turn into cars and shoot lasers at each other, but they've lingered in the hearts of fans for generations despite the shallow premise. War for Cybertron isn't tied into any upcoming film or television reboot, it's intended as a prequel to the original series to explain how this nostalgic robo-feud started in the first place. Can it get your engines revved or should this one stay mint in the box?

Prepare For Your Friends To Ask If You've Seen 'The Room' All Over Again

Zack Kotzer | 7/28/2010 2:05:10 PM

Since his debut back in 2003, actor/director Tommy Wiseau has become a cult sensation for all the right reasons. His film, The Room was explosively panned, leading it to immediate underground stardom. Imagine Ed Wood with a creepy euro-trash accent, self-casting and scarecrow hair. According to sources his return to the silver meme is on its way, in the form of a horror/sci-fi The House That Drips Blood On Alex.

Street Fighter And Tekken Go Two For Two X Two

Zack Kotzer | 7/27/2010 4:36:19 PM

While the Street Fighters have gone up against everything from their followers from King of Fighters to their uncannily unrelated X-Men, their newly announced brawl with the fighters of Tekken is taking an interesting twist. Yes, you can expect Zangief to pile-drive that smug looking King guy, but beyond that they are, how you say, going to throw a high kick in each other's shoes.
