I Was a Zombie Cheerleader

 On the second day of Fan Expo some of those who appeared at the SPACE booth were thrilled to see two girls in cheerleader uniforms being turned into zombies as a promotion for our new show “Todd & the Book of Pure Evil”. What they didn’t know was that I was one of them, mentally taking notes for something fun I could say about what it’s like to be turned into a member of the undead. And this was the difficult way.

Day 2: Pity the Plushies

 Pity the plushies. It’s pretty hot here at Fan Expo, and all the elaborate, lovingly-layered cosplay folks are sweating mercilessly in the packed convention hall. Slave Leia and the dude with the loincloth and manties – no matter how scandalous to the eye – are the comfortable ones. But lest you think this con is all about costumes, there are loads of folks who are just here geeking out on their favourite franchises.

David Blue Attending Fan Expo as Guest of SPACE!

 Excitement is in the air, as the SPACE crew is already down at the Fan Expo site here in Toronto. And if I wasn’t already excited this massive event, I was over the moon to find out David Blue from Stargate Universe would be there, as a special guest of SPACE! David’s an awesome guy and a tried and true fan of sci fi, so we couldn’t have a more perfect guest for the event.

 Where on earth did the summer go? It kinda hit me that it might officially be over when I realized Fan Expo 2010 was this weekend. It was also this realization that prompted me to buy my Deluxe pass to enjoy this weekend of fandom bliss. The panel line-up is pretty impressive: William Shatner, David Cronenberg, James Marster (whose panel I will definitely be attending), Adam West, Michael Dorn, Summer Glau, Felicia Day, Dean Stockwell, Peter Mayhew…
