Hey, D from the SPACEcreative team here - we did a little promo shoot for the "Zombie Weekend" (coming this Oct. 2nd on SPACE) and we thought we'd share the spots and some behind-the-scenes zombie action with all of you awesome spacecast readers. (Photos courtesy DOP Adam Makarenko)

 First off, the spots:

Plucked direct from the zombie-genius mind of SPACE creative director Gord McWatters, and from the decayed brain of yours truly, promo producer Daragh Sankey, these spots concern our happy little zombie family as they prepare for and embark on a delightful zombie weekend trip.

Mmmmm, hearty! Here's a close-up of zombie special makeup effects artist Allan Cooke's handiwork:

 



 

Allan's done work on Land of the Dead and Resident Evil Apocalypse, amongst many other things, so we were honoured that he zombie graced us with his zombie talents for this shoot.

 

He also provided the impressive fake zombie head and shoulders - no, we DIDN'T have to kill Joey in order to shoot the scene by the car! Ah, the magic of the movies.

 



 

And finally, DOP Adam and Gord next to the tiny little camera that we shot on:

 



 

Stoopid-looking on that tripod, huh? It's a DSLR, the Panasonic GH1, and it packs a lot of image into that little body.
 

Lastly, without turning this into an awards acceptance speech, we'd like to thank Tim and Igor from our design department - Tim for the Zombie Weekend graphics, and Igor for the impressive CGI work making the baseball go through zombie dad.

It was a fun shoot, hope you liked the spots. Don't forget to drool and stare blankly at the screen on the weekend of the 2nd - starting at midnight et / 9pm pt with Fido, which is an excellent new zombie film from Canadian director Andrew Currie.
