After a meteor shower bursts from the heavens, raining destruction on the unsuspecting citizens of Smallville, years pass, and the healing process leaves the town's inhabitants with scars and secrets. From the ashes of tragedy, a popular yet awkward teen attempts to decipher the meaning of his life and his clouded past. As he struggles with the transition from boyhood to adulthood, Clark finds that his strength and strange abilities set him uncomfortably apart from his peers.

Soaring into its ninth season, this modern retelling of the Superman legend and its classic characters continues to blend realism, action and emotional depth to reveal a new interpretation of the enduring mythology. This season, as Metropolis's clock tower tolls our characters' darkest hour, we find Clark Kent (series star TOM WELLING) finally making his first attempts to embrace his calling as a superhero.

With Supernatural bringing back father figures from the grave next season, it seems only right that Smallville should make a strong effort in its final season this fall. But who comes back from the grave for them? Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman) for one is on the docket, and everyone wants to see Lex Luthor back in action… but do you know who’s been confirmed for the season premiere?

CW’s fall schedule was released Wednesday, and within it were some sweet tidbits on the next seasons of Smallville and Supernatural Smallville will be losing a regular, and Supernatural will be contending with the chaotic fallout of the season finale. Looks like 10 is the magic number for Smallville. Tom Welling broke the news Tuesday night to Hollywood Life that next season – the series’ tenth - will be the show's last. Can you believe it's been a full decade Clark become a bold superhero.

? Smallville this season. Amazing JLA extended episode but too bad the Star Spangled Kid had to die. The Lois/ Clark love is growing, finally! i love it. Im not sure what to think about Oliver and Chloe though, it may grow on me by the end of the season though.

I am 56 years old, superman was my favorite superhero and will be for ever, keep up the good work... each episode that i am watching , i am hoping that clark... will become superman and fly... up up and away... thanks...

I love whats going on in Smallville... I just hope the Oliver will get it together and be back in his "hero" role before the end of the season. I am intrigued with the Zod line, not really history more artistic liberty so I am curious to see how it pans out. Chloe tracking the Heroes is cool! I am strongly hoping that they will all start to merge together before the end of the series. And maybe show us the beginnings of the JLA. Only problem is there is one hero missing still that is the backbone of JLA I wont mention his name but wouldnt it be cool if there was some kind of Dark Knight reference? As well I am still waiting to see what happens with Jimmy Olsen? There has to be more there! Looking good so far!

They should put this show in the featured shows section, not in the shows a-z, but it is space were talkin here... (hey space guys/gals, THERE IS MORE TO THE SCI-FI UNIVERSE THAN STAR TREK, and STAR TREK CLONES!!!)..... Also this shows season 9 premier is supposed to be aired on the 25th of September 2009, NOT THE 27th !!!.... but i can probably download it on the night of the 25th.. and not bother to tune in on the 27th.......
