From J.J. Abrams (Lost), Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, comes a new drama that will thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between science fiction and reality. When an international flight lands at Boston's Logan Airport and the passengers and crew have all died grisly deaths, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is called in to investigate.

When the search nearly kills her partner, Special Agent John Scott (Mark Valley, Boston Legal), a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to Dr. Walter Bishop, the Einstein of the 21st century.

There's only one catch: he's been institutionalized for the last 20 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son, Peter, in to help. Under Special Agent Phillip Broyles, the trio work to discover the shocking truth behind "fringe science."

Where Will The Observer Pop Up Next?

Pix Princss | 11/25/2009 12:07:51 PM

If you've seen the most recent episode of Fringe, "August", you'll know that  The Observer figured largely into the episode. And what we have seen in this and other episodes from the past is that The Observer has a knack for showing up at all the crucial fate-deciding moments in history to "observe". He's a hotsauce-loving, time-crunching "Cancer Man" of the series.  What does he know?  What is his agenda? Where has he been before? Where will he show up next?

Girlpower

In the last episode of Fringe, the first scene identifies the city of Manhattan. However, MANHATAN was spelled with one "T". Does this misspelling signify that it is the alternate Earth or was it just a typo? Any ideas?

In "Jacksonville", Olivia says, "I am afraid," and she and Peter almost kiss. I wonder if at that moment, Olivia starts to see that Peter is from the other side. (Watch her eyes closely!)

All I can say is that Wow Leonard Nimoy looks old! But what a really well rounded show so far! And I tell you what, next to the Denny Crane and Alan Shore combo from Boston Legal, Walter is hands down my favorite character! He just completely cracks me up! keep it up this is a good one! Even if I am not totally engrossed in the plot Walter makes the show worth watching! (for me)

I'm also wondering if there's some special sequence to how the characters are lined up, or should be, based on the fact that most of the shadows each have a different position. Reminds me of semaphore or some other kind of body code (hands at 11 oclock, 12 oclock, 1 o'clock kind of thing).

@tangcameo - holy moly, you are totally onto something. And notice that two of them seem to be holding weapons of some sort.

So I'm guessing by the way the characters are generally positioned in comparison to the shadows on the door that Peter is from the alternate Earth, but doesn't know it, and that Nina Sharp is too and obviously does know it. Take a look at the upraised shadow arms behind Peter and that Nina's arms are upraised (sort of).
