EPISODE 5 : “Alienated”

There…are…no…aliens! Still, Henry is concerned about his assistant Spencer who insists he’s been abducted. Sheriff Carter recognizes the yo ung man’s trauma but isn’t buying alien influences even when his own deputy Jo knocks him out cold and joins three other townsfolk in a plot to kidnap a visiting Congressman.

Henry Deacon’s assistant, Spencer Martin, hosts a pirated movie download party that gets so raucous Deputy Jo Lupo is sent to quiet it down. The next morning, Henry reports Spencer missing and Jo and Sheriff Carter (Colin Ferguson) track him to a remote field where he’s huddled in a rather convincing crop circle.

Carter recognizes that something’s happened to Spencer but isn’t buying his tale of alien abduction. Of course this odd mess erupts at a very bad time. Congressman Faraday (Garwin Sanford), the legislator who oversees Eureka’s funding, is visiting and has begged for a couple
of days of peace and quiet.

Faraday is less than impressed with a Global Dynamics’ presentation on subliminal message generation, as his real interest is weaponry. He pressures Eureka’s head researcher Nathan Stark to give him access to the top secret Section 5. Meanwhile, Faraday and Beverly Barlowe make up for lost time, as it seems they’ve shared quite a steamy history.

Carter’s mission to find out what really happened to Spencer takes a disturbing turn when Jo knocks him out cold and takes off with a load of very intimidating weaponry. Saving Eureka’s funding may be more difficult than anyone had anticipated.
