EPISODE 7 : “Dr. Nobel ”

Carter (Colin Ferguson) and Zoe (Jordan Hinson) must help an aging scientist recover his memory before a dormant weapons system unleashes a grave disaster.

When Fargo (Neil Grayston) moves into his new office — formerly a storage space — he and Spencer (Shayn Solberg ) unearth a strange object in the mountains of junk. Curiosity gets the best of them — this is Eureka after all—and their tinkering initializes the countdown procedure to a long-dormant weapons system. With silos rising from the soil, Sheriff Carter (Colin Ferguson), Allison (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), Stark (Ed Quinn) and Henry (Joe
Morton) pore over some old documents and stumble upon the name of a retired scientist, Dr. Irvin Thatcher (Antony Holland), who may hold the key to the system.

As luck would have it, Dr. Thatcher is living at the very retirement home where Zoe (Jordan Hinson) is polishing off some community service hours. Eugenia Biddle (Donna White), a resident at the home and Zoe’s new friend, points the way to the scientist in question. Within five
seconds of meeting, Carter concludes that this scientist has completely lost touch with reality.

When Carter brings Thatcher to Global Dynamics, the scientist’s initial ramblings seem meaningless until Henry interprets his seemingly senile suggestions and succeeds in accessing the machine's innards. Unfortunately, their collective sense of relief is short lived when Henry
and Stark's subsequent tinkering wit h the machine accidentally advances the countdown from
twenty hours to seven.

They now need Thatcher’s help more than ever but Thatcher has reverted back to his into his own world, unable to tell them anything more about his greatest invention. While Stark, Henry and Fargo continue to try and disarm the device, Carter and Allison focus on
Thatcher and learn of his long-ago love affair with Eugenia. With Zoe’s help, Carter finds Eugenia and learns the truth behind Thatcher’s split with reality. As the missile silos hum, there is one last, desperate effort to release the secret in Thatcher’s brain and halt a cataclysmic disaster.
