On an experimental mission, Commander John Crichton encounters a wormhole, and is accidentally swept across time and space and into a parallel universe. Thrown headlong into a raging space battle, his out of control module hits a passing ship, killing the pilot inside. Captured by an escaping prisoner ship, Crichton joins the prisoners as they attempt to flee the evil clutches of the Peacekeepers - a race of deadly mercenaries. Crichton and the prisoners are forced to band together in an attempt to evade their pursuers, working together to fight the opposition, while desperately trying to find the strength to trust one another.
