Hank Landry has returned from retirement to take over the SG-1 team. He was hand-picked by his old friend, Jack O'Neil, who was promoted to head of Homeworld Security.

He has a penchant for quoting famous generals such as George Washington, Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton. He is a resolute man who nevertheless operates the SGC with a sense of humour.
