Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach

MMOG

Dungeons & Dragons OnlineT: StormreachT is based on the latest version of Dungeons & Dragons®, the roleplaying game that started it all. D&D is an imaginative, social experience that engages players in a rich fantasy world filled with larger-than-life heroes, deadly monsters, and diverse settings.

Players create heroic fantasy characters -- mighty warriors, stealthy rogues, or powerful wizards -- which they guide through an ongoing series of adventures, working together to defeat monsters and other challenges and growing in power, glory, and achievement.

DDO Game Review

Pros
For those who play D&D you will be familiar with the gameplay, for those who do not it will take you 5min to learn the basics of playing this MMOG. Starting the game off you will need to create a character that is very customizable...and very well designed. You can play with most facial character features as well as hair and skin tones. I personally created a light blue skinned , ponytail wearing Wizard...was very cool. Once you enter the game you will notice there is an attention to detail on most items and buildings. The game play is simple enough and getting around is just a matter of running around. One cool aspect that I found int he game is you stay in the area where your level character can thrive , thus not needing to go great distances to find a dungeon or a quest. The game also majorly focuses on party play...you will find it very hard to solo in dungeons and in some cases imposible. Being a vetran of MMOGs i found this a easy game to pick up and one that I could play with a group of friends at my own pace.
Cons
When i entered the game for the first time I had some graphic issues, after the latest patch however all issues seemed to disapear. If you are not familiar witht eh D&D system it may take you some extra time to setup a character as there are many customizable aspects. Furthermore I like like to solo once in a while, however i dont see many chances to solo in DDO it focuses on group combat.
Interesting Info
You can wear many different armors but you will take the huge penalties if you do, it was fun to just try it on anyway. Also if you cant sell an item to a vendor , you can inspect the item and it may tell you who will buy it...cool little trick that helped me unload a bunch of mushrooms.
