Shadow of Colossus Review
Review by: Kickass
Pros
Amazing development on the Colossi. Every detail of these lumbering giants moves with them, which is very important since you as the hero have get to interact with them up close and personal. Also, the world is seemless with no transition screens.
Cons
No story whatsoever. There may be a beautiful seemless world, but it is barren. Free of intermittent challenges, the only thing this game has are a bunch of boss fights. But it's missing the element that makes boss fights cool, the fact that by the time you get to that super nasty boss, you've been through hell and back and really deserve to be there. In this game you basically have a compass that points you at the next boss and you go and defeat him.
Interesting Info
The colossi are great, but would be better suited in a game with some story and context for them. As it is, it's a beautiful looking version of push-push. Next stage, next trick to defeating it, and so on. There is also little replay value as once you have "solved" a colossus, it's fairly simple to repeat the steps again.
