What happens when a quirky Canadian comedian takes the hilarious art of film dubbing to the next level? The result is Steve Smith Playhouse. Similar to the style of Woody Allen's What's Up, Tiger Lily?, Steve Smith (The Red Green Show) takes B-movies, cuts them down to half an hour and uses his voice to replace that of the lead character while all the other characters' performances remain untouched, often changing the plot and tone of the original movie. Steve Smith is no rookie to Canadian television. Best known for his portrayal for 14 seasons as Red Green on the popular Canadian series The Red Green Show, Smith has earned countless Gemini award nominations and in 2002 starred as Red Green in the Canadian feature film Duct Tape Forever.
