Ain't It Cool News has a report from CanMag.com that Captain Kirk may be returning to the bridge of the Enterprise in the next "Star Trek" movie. If that isn't good enough, Patrick Stewart and Scott Bakula may also beam into the mix in what is being described as a "mirror universe" story which would see our heroes intermix in a universe that doesn't have to conform to established "Trek" continuity restrictions, a device that was used most recently to nice effect in the final season of "Star Trek: Enterprise."

The whole idea springs from a couple of years ago when they were trying to get Shatner to guest on "Enterprise," but it fell through. They think a movie might be a better venue to explore the story they had in mind for television. Patrick Stewart recently mentioned that some big money was being talked about for a new feature in the final frontier and that he might be involved, so there may be a grain of truth to this rumour. Keep your fingers crossed.
