According to Variety, Mark Wahlberg will star as Max Payne in a live-action adaptation of the video game. It will be directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix, The Omen) and the script was written by newcomer Beau Thorne. The news is hard to believe, since Wahlberg has said that he refuses to work on films that don't have a good script.

Also according to Variety, Disney is interested in hiring Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) to direct Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This is great news since earlier it was rumored that Michael Bay was to direct. The casting for this movie remains a mystery, hopefully some underrated stars from India will be involved.
