Last night, the SPACE and CTV gang visited Ubi Soft Montreal's launch party for Assassin's Creed (XBOX360 & PS3). Although the party was fairly normal on the inside, outside two guards in tunics were holding torches. As well, a projected life-size silhouette of main character Altair doing his signature swagger and a soaring eagle crawled the walls.

Once we were well fed, Creative Director Patrice Desilets demoed the game. Patrice showed everyone a few specifically placed jumps from tall buildings where Altair could land safely in a haystack. After that, we were able to try the game. It felt like an easier Prince of Persia but with more bodily control so that you can choose how stealthy or subtle you want Altair to be acting.

Assassin's Creed is one of the most anticipated games of the year and had a huge marketing campaign. Chances are that even if you don't play games you've probably heard of it. As well, Kristen Bell (Heroes, Veronica Mars) appears in the game. Nuff said.
