Sources are claiming that this photo is of an indigenous alien race called the Na'vi from James Cameron's upcoming sci-fi 3D epic Avatar. The shot matches an insider's photo of a test shot taken in June found here. Not exactly original but understandable, since a human is supposed to fall in love with one of them. It looks similar to the creatures from Cameron's The Abyss... and unfortunately, Angelina's character in Beowulf.

The original treatment for Avatar described the Na'vi as tall and blue, so this very well could be conceptual art for the species.

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in May 22nd 2009.
