What do you get when you pair the stop motion genius of Henry Selick and the brilliant godlike writing of Neil Gaiman (if you haven't noticed, I'm a fan and may appear slightly bias in calling his writing "godlike")? What you get is Gaiman's best selling novella Coraline, which can be found in the Youth section of your local bookstore despite thoroughly terrifying the crap out of me when I read it the first time, as an animated feature.

And as if that wasn't enough to make you all geek out (let's face it, I'm still recovering), They Might Be Giants will be providing the music for the film. How that will work? I have no idea but I can tell you this, I now have Particle Man stuck in my head.

The film will star Dakota Fanning (bored child? sounds fitting), Teri Hatcher (perfect for the "Other Mother" what with all the plastic surgery) and Keith eff'n David (think Goliath meets the Cheshire Cat).
