The New York Comicon 2008- Touchdown and an X-Files scoop!

MARK ASKWITH REPORTS

I have been a poor blogger, but I have a good excuse. I was in New York for the Third Annual Comicon, and I had so much work to do, so many interviews to conduct, and so little time to do it in. Now that I'm back, I'm going to do a series of blogs about my highlights.

The first interviews on Friday were not at the con, but in the Fox building in downtown New York. My cameraman and I raced straight there from the airport, and we were confronted my very heavy security. That seemed appropriate, because our first interviews were with X-Files creator Chris Carter and his writing and producing partner Frank Spotnitz. As a huge X-Files fan, I was thrilled. I am embargoing most of the interviews, but I do have a scoop!

Chris Carter revealed that the will be some in-jokes in the X-Files: I Want to Believe movie, and some of them are about Vancouver writer Douglas 'Generation X' Coupland. Frank Spotnitz not only confirmed that, but said, "Keep your eyes peeled when you are in Mulder's apartment".

It may be that I have said too much, and now I'm going to be targeted by some shadowy agency, but the truth was out there, and I had to share!
