San Diego Comicon - In the edit suite

MARK ASKWITH REPORTS

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 14:56

It is Wednesday, and most of us are all working on making the San Diego Comicon Special. We sent two crews (a producer, and host, and a cameraperson each) down to the show, and now we're back and our role has shifted to 'making' rather than 'gathering'. The other people in the office are working on the Star Wars: Clone Wars Special which will air the following week.

So, as you can imagine, we're busy!

Looking at the footage back in the office is always interesting because you see so many things you didn't notice before (like Johnny 'The Big Bang Theory' Galecki walking the floor, cast members exchanging secrets, and fashion faux pas), and we also get to see what the other crew shot. In my case I missed the very large Aquaman, a beautiful Emma Frost costume, not to mention dozens of interviews with the cast of BSG, Ghosthunters, Supernatural, Smallville, Terminator: Salvation, Deathrace, ROCKNROLLA,  and many many other projects.

I have just finished working with the editors on some 'modules'- tasty story chunks, if you will. We have nice pieces on Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate: Continuum, The Spirit, The Eisner Awards, Artist's Alley, Watchmen, and Fringe, just to name a few.

Right now the show is a little over half done. We have been double-shifting the producers and the editors, and right now I've only got a few minutes to blog this as I wait to go back into the edit suite. Right. Back into the suite I go!
