"Greatest American Hero" movie in workspxlprincss reportsWednesday, September 10, 2008 14:04Believe it or not, there will be a movie version of this 80's TV show classic! At the 25th anniversary panel on the series, "Greatest American Hero" creator Stephen J. Cannell confirmed that there is not only a script, but they've hired a director.
For those of you who were not sentient beings when the series came out, the story follows a hapless school teacher who's given a super-hero costume by aliens. The red unitard gives him amazing powers, but the clincher is he's missing the instruction manual. In addition to movie plans, the series has also been translated into a comic book and the there will be a handful of animated shorts - voiced by the original cast - on the interweb. This could be another attempt to revive an '80's classic beforeits nostalgic demographic grows senile or funnels their disposable income to their kids' college tuition. Or it could be all kinds of awesome. Time will tell. via aintitcoolnews |
