By the Power of Grayskull! Masters of the Universe Relaunches Action Figures!

Can you really experience the joy of your favourite childhood toy, not once or twice but THREE times?  Because I have. With the latest relaunch of the Masters Of The Universe!  Mattel has taken my favourite 80's muscle-bound action figures and has comtemporized them with all their classic characteristics I've come to love.

As a kid it drove me nuts that there wasn't much mobility to the MOTU figures but Mattel has changed all that by giving them more articulation than ever before.

Every single hero and villain from the classic MOTU 80's toy line is being redesigned and stylized for all of us 'grown-up-kids' at heart.

Every month through www.mattycollector.com a new figure will be release.  Currently sold out is 'King Of Grayskull (who btw, looks a lot like He-Man but with longer hair extensions a draping cape and a much shaggier and longer fur underpants) I had no idea was this King dude, was the original builder and grandpapa of the castle of power.

Oh yeah, he also turns out to be the one Prince Adam is beckoning when he pulls out his mighty sword and yells 'By The Power Of Grayskull!'  And here I am thinking all this time that Castle Grayskull and the Sorceress within it, were the ones that turned Prince Adam into He-Man. Geez! You learn something new everyday.

Anyway,  like I was saying before, my history lesson on the origins of He-Man's power - King of Grayskull was the first figure to be released from Mattel new classic relaunch line.  Which is also no surprised that he's completely sold out.  Wait...I think I've already mentioned this but I'm only re-enforcing the fact because yours truly here did not get one whilst at Comic-Con.  Nope!  Not for Nat!  Oh yeah, I held him in my hand, talked to the Mattel rep about this cool new toy relaunch but do you think I would have stopped, put down the microphone and bought one?  No!  Why?  I am still asking myself that very question. LOL!

Well you and I can still get our hands on He-Man and Beast-man, who are coming soon - as well Stratos, Mer-man, Zodac and Skeletor who are set to be released shortly after.  Mattel plan on relaunching pretty much all of the MOTU, so the coming months and years are gonna be a whole lotta fun for this toy fan!

It just occurred to me that I thought The Four Horsemen's Japanimated redesign of the MOTU was pretty badass. I still do from the point of view of a high-end collector, who loves well-sculpted and detailed mini statues and busts.  But having seen Mattel's Master of the Universe Classics, I realize at the end of the day I'm just a girl who's all about the retro!

Until my next toy adventure, clear skies!
