Is it just me, or is everyone talking all at once about the magical benefits of LED lights? Cities want to re-work their
streetlights to LED. Artists create interactive sculptures out of the stuff.
Buildings like the AGO adorn themselves with it.
Light Emitting Diodes consume little energy, cast a lovely ambient light, and they last for a long time. Now it looks like they might work better than any anti-aging cream on the market.
The Earth Times flagged a study reporting that high intensity visible light from LED's "rejuvenated skin, reduced wrinkle levels, juvenile complexion and lasting resilience" when applied to the skin over a period of weeks.
Its penetrating light alters the molecular structure of a layer of water that would otherwise immobilize elastin, the stuff that keeps your face from drooping south and your eyes from getting raccoon-y.
What's not to love? Is there anything LED's can't do?
