Astronauts on board the International Space Station broke a record recently by passing the 250 thousandth photograph mark. The image you see here shows an oblique view of Christchurch, New Zealand. The angle allows more of a topographic view where you can more clearly see the rise and fall of land structures and shapes. Prominent in the image is the Banks Peninsula and its snow-capped peaks. Just above that is the city itself. This image was taken on August 15, 2006.
