Mars probe finds gullies

Images suggest flow of liquid water

Nasa says it has found "compelling" evidence that liquid water flowed recently on the surface of Mars. Orbital images from a Nasa probe seem to reveal the presence of gullies, which suggest water, which suggests potential presence of life.

Not all scientists, however, and there is a competing theory that they could also have been cut by liquid carbon dioxide (CO2).
