NASA pieced this spectacular true-color image of the "blue marble" by piecing together satellite-based observations. Months of observations of the land's surface, oceans, sea ice, and clouds were stitched into a seamless mosaic of every square kilometer of the Earth.

High resolution versions of the image are also available and they are up to 21,600 pixels across.
