JACK
JOHN BARROWMAN

Jack Harkness is Torchwood’s leader. His origins are obscure, and that’s the way he likes it. He has vast practical experience working with aliens, dealing with crisis situations, and has come through a lot of scrapes intact. Unafraid of dangerous situations, his quick wit remains sharp regardless of the threat.
The team know very little about this mysterious figure: only that someone with that name disappeared in the middle of the Second World War – but that couldn’t be him, could it?

John Barrowman is a Scottish actor, musical performer, dancer, singer, and TV presenter. He has lived and worked both in the United Kingdom and the United States. He has appeared in the West End productions of Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Hair, Grease!, Sunset Boulevard, Chicago, and The Phantom of the Opera. Barrowman's musical abilities have been featured in films such as De-Lovely (which he sings a duet of "Night and Day" with Kevin Kline) and Mel Brooks' The Producers (where he sang "Springtime for Hitler"). Barrowman is currently a judge on the reality talent show, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? He is also releasing an album called Another Side this summer.
